I don't how I feel about this now that it's done, but it took forever so I guess I'll like it just for the work involved. The ladies at my embroiderer's guild seem to be pleasantly confused by my subject matter. One was convinced he was a Roman centurion but I didn't want to be like, "Nah man it's a robot saint" because that's weird.
Silk and other misc scraps.
(also it's scanned in so it looks kind of lumpy and stuff)
It might be partly because it's done in a different medium, but I like this. And I think it turned out well. (If I tried to do a piece like this in textiles it would look awful!) I love the detailed stitching in the robot's face, halo, and wings. The blue looks beautiful against all the neutral colours. I have no idea what the numbers in the sky mean, but to me they look like a scripture or verse written in code or something... That's just a guess though, based on the robot saint. Either way, they're interesting and I like them (even if I don't understand their meaning). Nice work!
